Arsenal complete move for Barcelona defender

Arsenal have completed the signing of Joel Lopez after he rejected a deal from Barcelona this summer, according to Talksport.

The 16-years-old has ended a nine-year stay in Spain going ahead to new challenges in England with Arsenal.

As he rejected the contract offer from Barcelona the Gunners will only have to pay a compensation fee and have landed the promising youngster.

He wanted to further his career due to a real lack of opportunities at the Spanish giants.

The player will go straight into the clubs under 18 side and will then look to progress in the under-23’s in further times.

He plays as a left-back primarily, but can also play as part of a back three something which he did in his time at Barcelona.

Arsenal’s head of recruitment  Raul Sanllehi has played a key role in getting him to the club after recently moving from Barcelona himself.
