Arsenal want to sign Gelson Martins from Sporting CP this summer, according to claims from Portugal.
It’s reported by O Jogo, as cited by the Mirror, that the Gunners are contemplating a swoop for the Portugal international as they look to strengthen their attacking ranks.
Martins enjoyed another strong season with Sporting and is still being linked with a move to the Premier League.

The Gunners were reportedly keen to land Martins in January as they sought out a replacement for Alexis Sanchez. Instead, however, they recruited Henrikh Mkhitaryan in a swap deal with Manchester United for the Chilean.
Arsenal’s interest in Martins does not appear to have deterred, though. Although Sporting want to keep hold of their prized asset, it seems Unai Emery’s side will give serious consideration to a bid in the coming weeks.
Martins’ contract at Sporting runs until the summer of 2020 and also entails a release clause worth a reported £52.7 million.
