Arsenal have reportedly learned Borussia Dortmund’s valuation of Sokratis Papastathopoulos as they prepare to accelerate their summer pursuit of the player.
The Gunners want to strengthen their central defensive options this summer and appear to have identified the experienced Dortmund star as a target ahead of next season.
It’s claimed by Kicker, as cited by GGFN on Twitter, that Arsenal’s initial offer of €15m is set to be insufficient, with Dortmund ready to demand €18m for the 29-year-old.

Arsenal’s budget is understood to have been set at £70m this summer and a cut-price deal for Sokratis is seemingly of interest to them.
The club’s head of recruitment, Sven Mislintat, will know all about Sokratis’ capabilities following his exploits at Borussia Dortmund, which could explain Arsenal’s pursuit of the Greek international.
Arsenal are desperate to sign defensive quality this summer and are also chasing a deal for Freiburg’s promising centre-back, Caglar Soyuncu.
