Unai Emery is set to become Arsenal boss and it could be the toughest job he has chosen to take so far in his career.
At PSG, he had one of the best squads in world football and it is not going to be as easy as he found it in the French league.
Anyone can beat anybody in the Premier League and Arsenal certainly know this.
Fans are increasingly getting annoyed at performances in the big games and in games against the teams at the bottom of the Premier League.
Emery needs to work out why Arsenal haven’t been successful and how he can sort it out, and he needs to work it out quick.
From the players to the fans, it’s going to be a tough ask for Emery to sort out what’s gone wrong at the Emirates.
These are the five big issues that we think the Spanish manager needs to address as soon as he gets the job.
He needs to find a leader
Arsenal have struggled to find a player who can replicate what the likes of Patrick Viera brought to the team. If Emery can find someone that can do the leading on the pitch, it will make his job much easier.
Sort the defence out
The Gunners defence has been weak for a few years now and Emery will have to improve it.
With Laurent Koscielny out for a number of months and Shkodran Mustafi’s future in doubt, it looks like it will be a busy summer for Emery.
Sort out Jack Wilshere
The announcement of Emery is imminent which means he can try to get Jack Wilshere to sign a contract.
Wilshere can be a leader for Arsenal for years to come and is a player that loves the club, they can’t afford to lose him, especially for free.
Focus on the attack
In new signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, it seems Arsenal have found their new goalscorer.
The new number 14 has scored 10 goals in 13 league games for Arsenal.
If Emery can focus on creating a bond between Mesut Ozil, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang then he could have a front three that can do serious damage in the league next year.
Win the fans over early
If Emery sorts these problems out, then he will be welcomed brilliantly and the fans will be on his side but there is much more to do still.
After years of negativity from fans, if he can create a happy atmosphere from the stands, it could really help the team.
