Jean-Michael Seri has been told he can leave Nice this summer if he wants.
Seri has been a big target for Arsenal for numerous weeks now and as reported by the Evening Standard, the noise coming from Nice is that the midfielder could be set to exit the Ligue 1 club in the coming weeks.
Arsenal will have to persuade the player to turn down the interests of clubs across Europe if they are to land him, however.
Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivere has spoken about the midfielder’s situation, admitting that he may be unable to prevent Seri from departing.

As we currently speak, no departure is confirmed. But it’s true that Alassane is arriving at a stage in his career where it would be difficult to prevent him from looking for something else. You have to respect that.
We are here to help players to improve, that is the case with him. Seri is in the same category. A very good player who has brought a lot to the club and can legitimately have that desire to go and play abroad.
Even though it seems certain he will be leaving, Seri had his move to Barcelona broken down last summer at the last minute due to Nice playing hardball over his valuation.
Chelsea have also been linked with a summer swoop for the midfielder.
