Four Arsenal players, some of whom had been linked with moves away from the club this summer, have been issued new squad numbers which suggests that they won’t be leaving.

Petr Cech has been given the number one jersey, after wearing number 33 last season. That seems to be the biggest indication yet that the Czech international will remain at The Emirates next year, despite having a mixed 2017/18 campaign.

Hector Bellerin, another player who has been linked with a transfer this summer, will change his shirt number from 24 to two, again, an indication that he’s likely to stay at the club.

Mohamed Elneny will give up the number 35 shirt and instead will wear the number four jersey.

Finally ,Granit Xhaka will no longer wear number 29. Instead, he’ll wear number 34, a number which is so significant to him that he has it tattooed on both his back and his arm.
