Mikel Arteta is set to demand full control over the club’s transfer dealings ahead of his impending appointment as the new manager of Arsenal.
According to the Daily Mail, the Spaniard has made this demand to the club’s hierarchy as he gears up to step into his first ever gig as a first-team manager.
Arteta is currently contracted to Manchester City and has been a part of Pep Guardiola’s backroom staff since the former Barcelona boss’ arrival in English football.

The Gunners had shortlisted a number of managers but it appears as though they have narrowed their search down to Arteta, who captained Arsenal during his days as a player.
It’s claimed by the Daily Mail that Arteta will be unveiled as the club’s new first-team boss next week, with several Arsenal fans having expressed concerns over the shortage of managerial experience that the Spaniard has to his name.
Arteta is stated to be the favoured candidate by Ivan Gazidis, who has had a big say in who the club appoint to replace Arsene Wenger.
