Arsene Wenger has admitted that his biggest regret in the transfer market was not signing Cristiano Ronaldo, according to the Independent.
The Gunners have signed some fine players under Wenger, but the club missed out on signing Ronaldo when he joined Manchester United in 2003.
The player was, obviously, very successful at Untied and has gone to achieve greatness since his move to Real Madrid in 2009.

Wenger signed the likes of Thierry Henry and Robin Van Persie and was close to signing Ronaldo at one stage and the Frenchman admitted that not signing the Portuguese star is his biggest transfer-related regret.
He said:
The obvious player (that we missed out on) that comes to mind is (Cristiano) Ronaldo. He was here with his mother and we were very close. Then Man United came in and they had Carlos Queiroz at the time, who was their coach. United played against Sporting Lisbon and Ronaldo was outstanding and they signed him. You could imagine at the time what it would have been like to have Thierry Henry and Ronaldo together… That would certainly have changed a little bit the history of my stay here as well.
