Arsenal to offer Thierry Henry coaching role alongside Arteta

Gunners chiefs are intending to speak to former striker Thierry Henry next week about a possible return to the club, according to Sky Sports.

Mikel Arteta is still the number one candidate to succeed Arsene Wenger, as Arsenal executives sit down with the Spaniard today to discuss his appointment.

There has been plenty of speculation over who will take over from Wenger and Arteta seems to lead the way following a number of reports suggesting the former captain will soon take over.

It has now emerged that the North London club are also interested in bringing legend Henry back in some capacity, with talks scheduled to begin next week.

Henry currently works as a pundit for Sky Sports but also aids Roberto Martinez’ as the assistant for the Belgium national team, so the Frenchman will have to decide whether he is willing to sacrifice his current roles.

It would be possible for the 40-year-old to juggle both the Belgium national team and Arsenal, however, he would likely have to leave his role as a pundit.
