Arsenal forward Takuma Asano is set to return to the Bundesliga by joining Hannover 96 on loan, having spent the last two seasons with Stuttgart.
The Gunners signed the Japan international from Sanfrecce Hiroshima for £2million in 2016, but he hasn’t yet played for the London club, having been loaned out immediately to Germany.
Twice Asano was denied a loan permit in the summer of 2016 and 2017, and now Arsenal are prepared to sanction another loan spell, according to the Evening Standard.
The 23-year old has only got five goals in 45 appearances for Stuttgart, and his poor form saw him not play a single minute in the second half of the season in the campaign just gone.
Still, Hannover are still keen on signing the striker, which was confirmed by the club’s president, Martin Kind, who said;
We will loan him for a year. The sporting hierarchy have positive judgements over him.
