Arsene Wenger has reportedly turned down the chance to become the next manager of Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne.
According to claims from French news outlet LeSport, as cited by Calciomercato, Saint-Etienne made an ambitious swoop to recruit Wenger as the club’s new manager ahead of next season.
However, the Frenchman is claimed to have rejected this opportunity as he awaits offers from elsewhere.

Wenger is to leave Arsenal this summer after an illustrious 22-year stay in North London. The Gunners are on the lookout for replacements for the former Monaco boss, with the likes of Mikel Arteta having been eyed.
Saint-Etienne have overseen a turbulent time in terms of the club’s management structure following Oscar Garcia’s surprise early exit midway through November.
Leicester City manager Claude Puel has already been linked with the role at Saint-Etienne this summer but it appears as though audacious attempts were made to bring Wenger back to his homeland for the 2018/19 season.
