According to a report from The Telegraph, Arsenal have cut their managerial shortlist down to two contenders as they close in on Arsene Wenger’s successor.
Massimo Allegri and former Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta are thought to be leading the race to take over at the Emirates this summer.

Former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique, Patrick Vieira, Hoffenheim’s Julian Nagelsmann, Germany boss Joachim Low and Jorge Sampaoli have all been considered but not deemed as viable candidates.
City are desperate to keep hold of Arteta, who is rated highly by both Arsenal and Pep Guardiola himself but are unlikely to stand in his way should the job become a serious possibility.
Allegri has seen his long-term future at Juventus questioned but the Italian has raised his concerns about taking the Arsenal job.
The club’s boardroom structure is said to be a worrying factor for the Juventus boss, which may boost the Gunners’ hopes of hiring Arteta this summer.
