Arsenal legend Martin Keown has heavily criticised Mesut Ozil last night saying he was “not fit to wear the shirt”, according to BBC Sport.
The Gunners were eliminated from the Europa League last night as they were beaten 2-1 by Atletico Madrid.
Ozil played the full game but struggled to have too much of an impact on the game, despite his clear talent.
Arsene Wenger’s team must now settle for another campaign in the Europa League next season after tasting defeat to Madrid.
Former Chelsea striker Diego Costa scored the all-important goal on the night which sent the Gunners out of the competition.

The German, Ozil, has come in for criticism this season with many feeling that he does not turn up in the big games.
Keown did not hold back when he analysed Ozil’s performance last night:
These are crocodile tears I’m seeing. He’s not conning me.
I bet he doesn’t play again this season. He will have some emotional breakdown and won’t be able to play at the weekend.
He wasn’t fit to wear the shirt for me tonight, and I have seen this a lot this season.
