Arsenal are in advanced talks with Serie A leaders Juventus over the transfer of Hector Bellerin, according to reports in Spain.
Juventus chased the Spanish full-back’s signature last summer but Arsene Wenger convinced Bellerin to stay in North London for another year.
With Wenger now leaving the club at the end of the season, and yet again, no guaranteed Champions League football being on the table, this may now be the time we see the 23-year-old depart the Emirates.
Although Bellerin is Arsenal’s first choice right-back, it seems the Gunners are willing to sell him in order to raise extra funds for Wenger’s successor to spend.
The pacey full-back signed a long-term deal just two years ago, meaning Arsenal will be able to demand a large transfer fee for his services.
Raul Sanlehi, Arsenal’s new director of football operations, will apparently accept a fee in the region of £44 million from Juventus, which would almost double the Gunners’ reported transfer kitty.
