Wenger to turn down PSG’s offer

Arsene Wenger is set to decline the offer of general manager by Paris Saint-Germain in order to continue his career in first-team management, according to Mirror Sport.

Having revealed last week that he will leave Arsenal at the end of the season, the Frenchman has reportedly received a number of offers from clubs worldwide, including a lucrative deal to join a Chinese Super League side.

While PSG don’t want to offer Wenger the position of first-team manager with current boss Unai Emery set to depart in the summer, with Thomas Tuchel the man likely to replace him, they would like him to join as general manager, the middle-man between Tuchel and owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

Despite having a close relationship with Al-Khelaifi, Wenger is believed to be prioritising staying in first-team management, and has absolutely no plans to retire.

According to Mirror Sport, Wenger would prefer a move to a club in France of Spain, and would ideally like to join a club he can help build and grow.
