Arsenal legend says he would not be afraid to succeed Arsene Wenger

Tony Adams has said it will be a hard task to succeed Arsene Wenger as Arsenal manager, but he would not shy away from it if approached.

Wenger has announced that he will be leaving Arsenal at the end of the season, after 22 years in charge of the North London club.

Adams was speaking yesterday, before Wenger announced his departure, but he still spoke about being a future manager of Arsenal:

I am not sure I’d want to go next after Arsene, there might be a fallout and it might be complicated once he leaves. But I wouldn’t be afraid of it, that’s for sure.

The 51-year-old legend made 669 appearances over three decades at the Gunners, lifting the title in all three of them.

‘Mr Arsenal’ has struggled to transfer his success from playing to management. Lat year, he had a spell at Granada in La Liga but was unable to save them from relegation and he himself has said it is doubtful he will ever return to Arsenal, saying he doesn’t know if he wants to return to management in England.
