As Anthony Martial edges closer to a departure from Manchester United, Arsenal may have to compete for his services with Bayern Munich.
The forward has seen his chances limited this season, and the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in January has only pushed him further down Jose Mourinho’s ladder of who gets the lion’s share of first team football.
Despite appearing in 27 Premier League games this season, the 22-year-old has seen only 16 starts in the league.
With his career still in its early years, Martial is said to be encouraging his agent to find him a way out of Old Trafford in the summer transfer window.
Teams supposedly interested in the front-man have included Juventus and PSG (the latter’s interest suggesting Neymar is far from happy in his surroundings), but Bayern Munich have today entered the discussion for the star.
With Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery both out of contract at the conclusion of the season, the Champions League semi-finalists have started to evaluate their options for providing a replacement.
The opportunity for Arsenal to add to an already highly powered attacking third may prove too good to pass up, as Martial would join up with ex-United teammate Henrikh Mkhitaryan and compatriot Alexandre Lacazette.
