Arsene Wenger has hailed Danny Welbeck after his performance against CSKA Moscow on Thursday.
Arsenal secured their progression through to the semi-finals of the Europa League after drawing 2-2 with CSKA on the night.
Welbeck was the star for Arsenal as he scored his tenth goal of the season – in all competitions.
The English forward is looking to get into the England squad for the World Cup this summer and Wenger has hailed his motivation.
As quoted by the Daily Star, Wenger said this:
Above all the qualities, when you have your back to the wall, Danny Welbeck looks like he has an extra special motivation in his body and head to give you something special.
That is something really exceptional, you do not find it in many players.
Welbeck has struggled for form and fitness throughout his Arsenal career to date, but is currently enjoying one of his best runs in the team.
However, he still finds himself behind Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for the number one spot up front.
