Arsenal confirmed their place in the semi-final of the Europa League as they edged out CSKA Moscow 3-6 on aggregate on Thursday evening.
The Gunners drew the second leg 2-2 in Russia, and that was enough to send them through after being 4-1 up in the first leg.
Danny Welbeck and Aaron Ramsey scored the all important away goals for the Gunners to move them a step closer to getting back into the Champions League ahead of next season.
It was a far from convincing performance from Arsene Wenger’s side as they were up against it for much of the night, having been 2-0 down at one point.
They now go into tomorrow’s lunchtimes draw knowing that they are now just three matches from securing back their place in the Champions League after a season away.
Here is how we rated the players following tonight’s game.
Petr Cech - 6
Was at fault for the second goal in a poor performance from the Arsenal man.
Hector Bellerin - 5
A poor showing from the Spanish defender as he was often troubled by the Russian side.
Skhodran Mustafi - 6
Looked far from comfortable in this match and was at fault for at least one of the goals.
Laurent Koscielny - 5
Was afforded a rest at the weekend but, looked well below par at the heart of the defence.
Nacho Monreal - 6
Wasn’t quite his usual self as he struggled to have much of an impact on the game.
Mohamed Elneny - 7
Controlled the Arsenal midfield well throughout as well as also slotting into the back three for a spell.
Aaron Ramsey - 8
Was a key performer for the Gunners once again as he got forward well from midfield and grabbed his goal late on.
Jack Wilshere - 4
A shocking showing from Wilshere did his World Cup hopes no good whatsoever with some lazy passing.
Danny Welbeck - 8
Was another superb performance from Welbeck as he also grabbed the equalising goal.
Mesut Ozil - 7
It was a quiet night for the German but, he was creating a number of opportunities for his teammates throughout.
Alexandre Lacazette - 6
Lacked any real service into him on a tough night for the forward.
Calum Chambers – 6
Came on in the second-half and sured up the defence with with some great blocks and interceptions.
Alex Iwobi – 5
Failed to really have the desired effect when he was introduced.
