Arsenal and Barcelona are battling to sign Panagiotis Retsos from Bayer Leverkusen this summer, according to reports.
The Greek international has been in impressive form for club and country this season and it seems his efforts have not gone unnoticed, with the Gunners being linked with a move.
Retsos, who made a name for himself during his time at Olympiakos, has been dubbed as one of the Bundesliga’s most promising young talents and it seems the likes of Arsenal and Barcelona are keen to swoop for the 19-year-old.
In the Bundesliga this season, Retsos has made a total of 14 starts so far and has also made six substitute appearances. He has impressed during this time, displaying composure at the back for the German outfit.
Arsenal will undoubtedly be out to bolster their defensive options in the summer but if they are serious about moving for Retsos, they’ll need to fend off competition from Ernesto Valverde’s high-flying Barca side.
