Arsene Wenger isn’t concerned by empty seats at the Emirates

Arsene Wenger believes his Arsenal side have “recovered from crisis” having won their last four games after a series of poor results beforehand, Sky Sports report.

The Gunners had lost four consecutive games over a period in February and March, including two back-to-back 3-0 losses against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final and in the Premier League.

Wenger had admitted that fans were turning against his managerial position, describing it as “hatred”.

Arsenal are currently 13 points adrift of a top four position with just seven games remaining in what has been a poor season for the Gunners.

However Wenger’s side can still qualify for next season’s Champions League if they win this season’s Europa League and the Arsenal boss believes his side are out of their bad period.

Speaking ahead of their quarter-final 1st leg clash with CSKA Moscow tomorrow at the Emirates Stadium, Wenger said:

We were very disappointed with our result against [Manchester] City. It takes time to grieve and to recover. But because the mentality in the team is very good, strong and healthy – we’re recovered. I think always you judge a team by the way they come out of a crisis. On that front I believe that is very positive on our side. There’s some extra pressure on us to do extremely well in this competition but that’s part of being where we are. We have to see it in a way it’s an opportunity we want to take and keep the priorities right and of course focus on how well we play together, how we want to play.

Attendances at the Emirates Stadium have dropped significantly this season with more and more of the Arsenal faithful beginning to call for him to step down.

However Wenger is not worried about the atmosphere in the ground affecting his players in tomorrow’s clash CSKA Moscow:

I’m not worried about that, the crowd when something is at stake is always behind us. What will decide the attitude of the crowd is the quality of our game. I’m always concerned when our stadium is not completely full but I don’t think that will be a problem tomorrow, the problem for us is our performance.
