# Tottenham and Arsenal battling to sign Netherlands international

Tottenham Hotspur will rival Arsenal in their pursuit of Matthijs de Ligt this summer, according to [Football London](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/transfer-news/spurs-eye-up-ajax-star-14486032?_ga=2.15415409.697751279.1522775059-1890931325.1492365275).

De Ligt has been heavily linked with a move to North London in recent times but it seems Tottenham are also keen to land the player, with the rivals seemingly set to go head to head for his signature this summer.

The young defender has been in tremendous form for Ajax this season and has established himself as a regular for the Netherlands national team.

Arsenal appear to be on the lookout for defensive reinforcements ahead of the summer transfer window, with De Ligt having been lined up. However, if Football London are to be believed, Spurs are preparing to make a huge £50m move for the youngster.

De Ligt is a coveted player and there are sure to be a number of clubs looking to land him this summer. Barcelona have also been linked.
