Jack Wilshere could still find himself on the plane to Russia this summer, according to England manager Gareth Southgate.
Simon Peach reports that the England boss says he has not closed the door on a place in the squad for the injury-prone midfielder.
I don’t think it’s too late for anybody. It’s obviously more difficult. We’ll still be monitoring everybody between now & the end of the season. 31/32 players in contention.

Wilshere has shown glimpses of his best form for Arsenal following his spell at Bournemouth on loan last season.
However, injuries remain the problem for Wilshere, who has been unable to shake off niggles here and there throughout the campaign.
The midfielder was overlooked by Southgate for Friday night’s friendly against the Netherlands due to a knee injury and will miss Tuesday’s game against Italy after withdrawing from the squad.
A lack of game time and an injury-hit squad has made Southgate’s squad selection even harder ahead of this summer’s tournament, with Wilshere one of many contenders on the fringes of the squad, looking to make an impact.
