Arsenal’s midfield has been criticised for being too weak in recent seasons and the potential addition of Abdoulaye Doucoure from Watford would go a long way towards rectifying that.
Doucoure himself recently hinted that a summer transfer was on the cards amid interest from the Gunners but after an impressive season with Watford, a number of top six clubs are eyeing a summer swoop for the Frenchman.
Reports suggest that Manchester United have joined the race to sign Doucoure and had scouts watch him in action during Watford’s recent win over West Brom.

Manchester United are set to lose both Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini in the summer and will be short of bodies in midfield, with Doucoure targeted as a potential recruit.
Despite playing primarily as a robust, all-action midfielder, the 25-year-old has chipped in with seven goals and three assists in the Premier League as the Hornets hope for a top half finish this campaign.
Both Tottenham and Liverpool are also interested in signing Doucoure who is valued at £20m by Watford.
