Arsenal’s defence needs a major overhaul in the summer and it starts with the centre-backs who have woefully underperformed in recent seasons.
The supposed leader of the defence, Laurent Koscielny, has struggled with injuries in the last two years which may have contributed to his poor form in the same period and Arsenal are ready to offload the France international.
According to El Gol Digital, the Gunners are ready to offer Koscielny to La Liga giants Atletico Madrid in a bid to tempt them into lowering their demands for impressive young defender Jose Maria Gimenez.

Gimenez is regarded as one of the best young defenders plying their trade in Europe today but he has a £57.3m release clause in his contract.
Arsenal hope that by offering Koscielny to Atletico, they will accept a lower bid for the Uruguay international.
The 23-year-old would be a considerable step up for Arsenal at the back as Shkodran Mustafi, Calum Chambers and Rob Holding have all struggled when afforded an opportunity this season.
