Arsenal to confirmed to have failed with £37.5m January bid for attacker wanted by Bayern

It’s been reported that Arsenal had a £37.5m bid rejected for young winger Malcolm in January as the Gunners looked to improve their attacking options according to the Mirror.

Arsene Wenger has been a long-term admirer of the youngster whose reputation is growing year upon year.

Wenger tried to persuade the 20-year-old to join the club but he failed with a late bid of £37.5m and ultimately ended up signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund for a club-record fee and Henrikh Mkhitaryan joined from Manchester United.

The club missed out on signing him after the Brazilians club refused to sell the player at any price remaining stubborn throughout the process.

Malcom has previously said that he would be keen on a move to the Premier League but Arsenal face some tough competition to complete the signing of the youngster in the future, with Bayern Munich among those interested.
