Arsenal’s hopes of landing Carlo Ancelotti this summer have been dealt a blow with the news that Chelsea are also interested in re-hiring their former manager.
The Express report that both clubs are considering the Italian, who is out of work after leaving Bayern Munich earlier this season.
Both Antonio Conte and Arsene Wenger have found their futures in doubt this season, with both expected to depart this summer.
Conte has been heavily linked with a move back to his home country after clashing with the Chelsea board regarding their transfer business.
The tide has also begun to turn on Wenger’s time at Arsenal, with fans calling for him to leave as the Gunners face the prospect of finishing outside the top four.
Ancelotti has been living in London since leaving Bayern as he angles for a Premier League return.
The Italian remains highly thought of at Chelsea after he guided the Blues to a domestic double back in 2010.
