# Ex-Arsenal man reveals who he’d target to replace Wenger

Former Arsenal man Stewart Robson believes Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is the ideal candidate to replace Arsene Wenger at the Emirates.

As quoted by [ESPN](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/arsenal/story/3398884/antonio-conte-a-great-fit-at-arsenal-stewart-robson), the ex-Gunners midfielder discussed the potential of the club seeking a replacement for Wenger at the end of the season and highlighted the Italian boss as the man he’d target.

> Conte is a brilliant manager. When he goes into a football club, and if he went into Arsenal, he’d make sure the players did what he wanted them to do.

> They would know exactly what their roles in the side are. And that doesn’t happen at Arsenal at the moment. He’d be a great fit at Arsenal.

Conte’s future at Stamford Bridge is under immense scrutiny. His Chelsea side have underwhelmed throughout the course of the season and it has been reported that the club are weighing up their options ahead of the summer.

Wenger, too, has seen his position at Arsenal come under the scope in recent weeks. This was only compounded by his side’s 3-0 defeat in the Carabao Cup final to Manchester City on Sunday.

The Frenchman’s contract in North London does not expire until the end of next season, though, and it does remain somewhat unlikely that the hierarchy at Arsenal would relieve him of his duties in the meantime.
