Arsenal appear to have received a boost in their pursuit of Bordeaux star Malcom.
The young winger was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates in the January transfer window but he was now allowed to leave the Ligue 1 club midway through the season.
However, in an interview with Brazilian news source UOL, as cited by L’Equipe, Malcom has revealed that he will indeed seek to depart Bordeaux when the summer transfer window rolls around.
I already said that I would have liked to leave this winter to meet new challenges. But I must also remember that Bordeaux helped me a lot. I gave my word to Bordeaux that I will continue [with the club] to be able to have more time to choose my future club.

Malcom has established himself as one of the most exciting young talents in world football, having shone for Bordeaux over the course of the last 18 months.
The winger is in good form for Gus Poyet’s side and is a hugely important player for them. Bordeaux will undoubtedly be keen to keep Malcom but the player has often spoken of his desire to test himself in the Premier League.
These next three or four months will make a big difference. Yes, Bordeaux promised me that I will have a good release in June. I will choose my next club and Bordeaux will let me go.
Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with a move for Malcom.
