Juventus star reveals he rejected a move to Arsenal
Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic has revealed that he did indeed turn down a move to Arsenal.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international staged an exclusive interview with the Telegraph ahead of his side’s Champions League encounter with Tottenham Hotspur and he revealed all about previous offers from the Premier League.
You want to know the names? They were Arsenal and Tottenham. I made my choice using my head and if I made that choice not to go to an English team it was for good reasons.
Pjanic has been one of Serie A’s standout performers over the years, impressing for both Roma and Juventus. This evidently attracted interest from clubs in England, with Pjanic confirming that both Arsenal and Spurs made moves for him.
The 27-year-old is a vital player for Juventus and has played a key role in their bid to retain the Italian top flight title. Pjanic has started 17 times in Serie A and has contributed with four goals and seven assists from central midfield.
Arsenal have signed a host of midfielders in recent years, yet none have truly caught the eye. Perhaps their fortunes may have changed if they were able to lure Pjanic to the Emirates some time ago.
