Arsenal have been handed a boost in their pursuit of AS Monaco star Thomas Lemar, with reports claiming that he has turned down a new contract offer from the Ligue 1 outfit.
The Frenchman has been on the Gunners’ radar for two transfer windows now and it’s thought that Arsene Wenger remains a huge admirer of the winger’s qualities.
If they do go ahead with this move, they may well find themselves to be in with a fighting chance of securing his services. According to a report from leading French news outlet L’Equipe, as cited by talkSPORT, Lemar has turned down an improved contract offer from Monaco.

Lemar has established himself as one of the best players in Ligue 1 over the course of the last 18 months and this has inevitably attracted interest from Premier League clubs, such as Arsenal and Liverpool.
It would come as no surprise to see Lemar targeted by Arsenal in the summer, and he could well be keen on departing Monaco if reports are to be believed and he has snubbed a new offer.
