# Grading Arsenal’s January Transfer Window

Arsenal’s January window was arguably one of the club’s busiest in many years, with many outs and ins at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal decided to cut to the chase in January by allowing Alexis Sanchez to complete his inevitable departure from the club with the Chilean opting for Manchester United, but the Gunners negotiated well to bring in Henrikh Mkhitaryan as part of the deal. The Armenian playmaker is still of a good age and has a chance to reinvent himself at Arsenal.

The deadline day arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund is one of the real headlines of the January window as Arsenal managed to secure one of the top centre-forwards in world football of the last three years.

Arsene Wenger would’ve liked to strengthen his defence during January, and the departures of Sanchez and Olivier Giroud to Manchester United and Chelsea respectively has strengthened direct league rivals, but on the whole, Arsenal can be very pleased with their January business.
