# Aubameyang set to ditch Henry’s number 14 in the summer

New signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been handed Arsenal legend Thierry Henry’s famous number 14 jersey number, but is expected to ditch it in the summer in favour of maintaining his brand, [according to the Daily Mail](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/5-questions-pierre-emerick-aubameyang-11952937).

The Gabonese speedster was pictured in training today with his new club, and attention was drawn to his personalised PEA17 boots.

Aubameyang wore number 17 for Borussia Dortmund, which is currently being occupied by Alex Iwobi at Arsenal, so the striker took 14, left vacant by the recent departure of Theo Walcott.

However according to the Daily Mail, Aubameyang is keen to maintain his brand, and is hoping to switch back to wearing 17 for the beginning of next season.

The £55million signing trained with his new side as they prepare for their weekend game at the Emirates, where they will host an Everton side buoyed from ending their winless streak against Leicester on Wednesday.

The 28-year old is expected to be thrown straight into the fray, with Arsene Wenger desperate for points as the season enters its final few months.
