# Arsenal on ‘red alert’ over potential move for Monaco star

Arsenal have been put on ‘red alert’ over a potential move for AS Monaco forward Keita Balde Diao, according to a report from the [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/transfers-news-live-aubameyang-liverpool-11916456).

The Senegalese attacker joined Monaco from Lazio only in the summer but it is rumoured that he could leave the reigning Ligue 1 champions in the near future.

According to the Mirror, Monaco’s new sporting director Michael Emenalo, formerly of Chelsea, has been instructed to employ a system of buying players for lower prices before selling them on for profit, meaning that Keita may be offered to potential suitors.

The versatile attacker has been in good form for Monaco in recent times and it’s likely that if they are to allow Keita to depart the club in the near future, they will demand a sum greater than the £30m they spent on him only some months ago.

Arsenal appear to be on the lookout for attacking reinforcements and have targeted Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. However, a move for Keita would surely tempt them at the price, should he become available.
