Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud is unlikely to join Borussia Dortmund this month, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
The Frenchman was of interest to the Bundesliga giants but it looks as though a transfer is not on the cards in the ongoing transfer window, with talks said to have reached an impasse.
Arsenal are desperate to lure Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang away from Dortmund this month and it was believed that Giroud could have been used as a makeweight in the deal, with the Bundesliga outfit prepared to receive the Frenchman as a replacement.

However, the Daily Mail claim that Dortmund have been unimpressed by Arsenal’s opening offers for Aubameyang, putting any potential move for Giroud in doubt.
It’s also stated in the report that Giroud is considering other alternatives, with game time having been limited under Arsene Wenger this season.
Arsenal remain keen to sign Aubameyang but it seems they are not yet close to agreeing on a fee with Dortmund, as the transfer window nears its conclusion.
