Dortmund reject Arsenal bid in excess of £50m for Aubameyang

Borussia Dortmund have rejected an offer in excess of £50m from Arsenal for striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

According to Sky Sports, Dortmund have rejected a second bid from Arsenal, who are in hot pursuit of Aubameyang to strengthen their attack.

Dortmund are open to selling the striker after a number of off-field issues over his attitude and commitment to the club, but have set a hefty price-tag over his head.

The German club are looking to net £55m from the sale of Aubameyang, which would be a club-record deal for Arsenal.

However, Arsenal are unwilling to pay more than they spent on Alexandre Lacazette, which was £52.7m from Lyon last summer.

Reports earlier today claimed Arsenal offered in excess of £50m, but under £52.7m, with the offer coming somewhere in between, which has now been rejected.

Dortmund would like Olivier Giroud to join on loan from Arsenal as part of any deal for Aubameyang.

Arsenal have already had an offer of £45m rejected for the prolific centre-forward this month.
