According to the Mirror, West Brom have given Arsenal the green light to sign Jonny Evans this transfer window, as The Gunners look to improve their fragile defence.
West Brom are looking to let go of one of their prized assets in an attempt to invest in new players for the frontline, which is where most of their problems have been this season, Troy Deeney and Aleksandar Mitrovic have been linked.
Arsenal are prepared to pay around £25m to bring Evans to The Emirates to fix their defensive frailties which have shown this season.
Manchester City were interested in Evans but they’re close to agreeing a deal to sign Athletic Club’s Aymeric Laporte, so arsenal will get a free run at the Albion star.
With just 18 months left on his deal, and with his current contract containing £3million relegation clause, West Brom look to have decided that cashing in on Evans now is the best course of action.
