Borussia Dortmund reportedly want to sign Olivier Giroud from Arsenal as they look to identify replacements for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, the Bundesliga side are somewhat resigned to losing Aubameyang this month, with Arsenal looking most likely to secure his signature. This has led them to make contingency plans for the Gabon international’s departure, and it seems Giroud is one name that is under consideration.

The report claims that Dortmund have opened talks with Arsenal over a move for the Frenchman, who will only fall further down the pecking order at the Emirates if Aubameyang does make the switch to North London.
Giroud is in desperate need of regular game time. The player is hopeful that he can enjoy a strong end to the season so that he can board the plane to the World Cup with France this summer, but needs to feature more regularly to be in with a chance.
It’s stated by the Daily Mail that Arsenal and Dortmund will stage more talks on Friday with regards to a move for Aubameyang, which could open up yet more discussions about Giroud’s future.
