The Gunners have a long-standing interest in versatile forward Martial and were understood to have been keen on bringing him to the Emirates this January, with Sanchez looking likely to join Manchester United.
The Chilean international is poised to depart North London this month but whether he will join United or their rivals Manchester City remains to be seen.
Martial has been used only sporadically by United this season but Jose Mourinho holds the Frenchman in high regard. He is a key player for the Red Devils and they appear reluctant to part company with the former Monaco forward.
The player himself, also, was seemingly uninterested in the prospect of joining Arsenal this month, GFFN reports.
