Arsenal loan duo surplus to requirements
Birmingham head coach Steve Cotterill has deemed Arsenal loan duo surplus to requirements, and could explore cancelling their loan deals, according to the Mirror.
Carl Jenkinson and Cohen Bramall joined the Blues’ in the summer during then-manager Harry Redknapp’s spending spree that saw 13 new players come in to St Andrews. However, the Gunners pair have unfortunately seen their loan spells turn sour.
Redknapp’s successor and former assistant Cotterill wants to cut his squad down so he can manage a more united unit for the relegation battle the club face, and neither Jenkinson or Bramall look likely to feature.
Jenkinson has made just one appearance for the club this season, despite returning to fitness following a shoulder injury. Bramall has also struggled for minutes, appearing just three times.
The Arsenal duo would join Everton’s Liam Walsh in having their loan deals cut short. The Birmingham boss has also shipped out his namesake David Cotterill and Emilio Nsue since taking charge of the club in October.
