Arsenal are willing to meet the release clause of Boca Juniors striker Christian Pavon.
According to The Mirror, Arsene Wenger sees Pavon as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, and is ready to meet his valuation.
Pavon has a £27m release clause in his contract at Boca, allowing Arsenal to go straight into negotiations with the player if they decide to meet the clause.
Alexis Sanchez appears to be closing in on a move to Premier League leaders Manchester City this month, with his contract at Arsenal up in the summer.
Arsenal are thought to be holding out for a fee in the region of £30m, which would cover the signing of Pavon.
The 21-year-old has been capped by Argentina twice and has scored 14 goals in 51 games for Boca in the league since joining the club in 2014.
Arsenal are looking for reinforcements to boost their chances of sneaking into the top-four this season.
