As reported by Sky Sports, Arsene Wenger has made a fresh enquiry to West Brom over the transfer of centre back Johnny Evans.

The former Manchester United man has been in Wenger’s sights since the start of last summer in which he saw an £18 million bid rejected by the Baggies, and with the winter window in full force now, he sees Evans as the perfect man to strengthen his back line. It is also reported that Manchester City are sniffing around the 30-year-old centre half.

Evans, 30, has only 18 months left on his current contract that will keep him at the Hawthorns, and it has been reported that he has yet to commit his future to Alan Pardew’s side.

Johnny Evans joined West Brom from Manchester United in the summer of 2015 after he was out of favour at Old Trafford, and with multiple teams including Arsenal sniffing around the defender, he has definitely proved that he can still perform at the highest level. Evans has so far made 16 appearances, with one goal for the Baggies this term.
