AC Milan’s director of sport Massimiliano Mirabelli has claimed that Andre Silva will be staying with the club beyond the January transfer window.
Arsenal have been linked with a move for Silva as they look to bolster their attacking options and compensate for the potential loss of Alexis Sanchez.
Recent reports claim that Sanchez is closing in on a move to Premier League leaders Manchester City, in a deal that could reach £30m.
Sanchez is out of contract in the summer, with City looking to secure a deal now to alienate the competition.
Arsenal are thought to be looking at Silva as a replacement, though it appears as though there is no chance of him leaving Milan this month.
Speaking to Calcio Mercato, Mirabelli said this:
I know Andre Silva is going through tough times but he is a very important player for us.
There is feeling between us and he has amazing skills and qualities. He will remain with us in January and is set to stay at the club for many many years.
Silva is yet to open his account in the Serie A for Milan this season, after his €30m move from Porto last summer.
