Arsenal could be set to finally lose Alexis Sanchez to Manchester City, if the Independent are to be believed.
City have been chasing Sanchez for a long time now and remain keen to secure his services this month. Pep Guardiola wants to reunite with Sanchez having enjoyed a good relationship with him at Barcelona and will now hope that he can strike a deal with Arsenal.
Sanchez’s deal at the Emirates expires at the end of the season and it seems he has no intention of putting pen to paper on a new contract. The ongoing contractual situation with Mesut Ozil is much the same.
Manchester City made attempts to lure Sanchez away from Arsenal late on in the summer, with the league leaders lodging a £60m bid for him on deadline day. The deal looked set to go through, but Arsenal failed to secure Sanchez’s likely replacement Thomas Lemar from Monaco.
Now, though, it seems Arsenal will be forced into a sale, with contacts close to the Chilean, as claimed by the Independent, confident that Sanchez could be a City player in the imminent future.
