The report claims that Arsenal are closing on the signing of Mavropanos as they look to strengthen their depth in defence.
Mavropanos is seen as one for the future, as Arsene Wenger plans for the upcoming seasons – rather than the current one.
Arsenal are currently 6th in the Premier League, six points behind fourth-placed Liverpool – with the Merseyside club also having a game in-hand over Arsenal.
Injuries to Laurent Koscielny and Skhodran Mustafi during the season so far has forced Wenger into exploring his options in the transfer market.
Mavropanos could come in to play a back-up role, with a starting berth in the future.
The 20-year-old has impressed for Greek side PAS this season.
