# Arsenal make contact with Serie B winger Alessio Da Cruz

Arsenal have held talks with the representatives of Dutch youngster Alessio Da Cruz, who has been linked with Liverpool and Inter Milan in the past.

According to Sky Italia, as reported by [TalkSPORT](https://talksport.com/football/arsenal-step-pursuit-serie-b-star-alessio-da-cruz-171222266377), Arsenal are leading the race to sign the 20-year-old who is currently applying his trade for Serie B side, Novara.

Inter have been heavily linked with the youngster but the report suggests that Arsenal are hoping to complete a deal in the summer.

Da Cruz has been in fine form already this season, scoring five goals in 16 starts, despite Novara languishing in mid-table in Serie B.

Various reports have stated that Arsenal’s head of recruitment Francis Cagigao has spent time in Italy to keep a watchful eye on the player’s development.

Da Cruz came through the ranks at Ajax and has made eight appearances for the Dutch U-18s side.
