Arsenal are reportedly considering a £35.4million move for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, according to Italian media.
Despite fellow centre back and compatriot Leonardo Bonucci moving away from the Juventus Stadium for AC Milan in the summer, Rugani has found first-team football hard to come by this season.
Mehdi Benatia has been preferred to Rugani at the back to partner one of or both of Giorgio Chiellini and Andrea Barzagli this season.
Now, according to Italian site Il Posticipo, Arsenal are considering a big money move for the Italy international.
Arsenal are monitoring the Italian having struggled with centre back options this season. Shkodran Mustafi has struggled for form this season, and left-back Nacho Monreal has often been preferred to him and his compatriot Per Mertesacker.
Arsenal will face competition for the Italian’s signature however, with Manchester United also interested in Rugani, as they look to strengthen their defensive options ahead of the second half of the season.
