Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says that the future of Olivier Giroud is in the club’s hands, and not the player’s.
Giroud has been linked with a move away from the club in January, as he reportedly looks for more regular game-time.
However, Wenger says that Giroud is an important member of the Arsenal squad and that he wants him to stay.
Speaking to The Mirror, Wenger said this:
Is it up to him or up to us? It’s up to us. It’s a remarkable achievement what he has done again today.

I consider Olivier Giroud as a regular player. We have to be grateful that he is part of a great team and one who can come on and make a difference with the right attitude and ability. He is a talent.
Giroud is yet to start a Premier League game for Arsenal this season, with 13 appearances as a substitute.
The forward came off the bench to score a crucial equaliser away at Southampton on Sunday to secure a point – his eighth of the season.
The French international has scored four goals off the bench in the Premier League this season, with Alexandre Lacazette preferred by Wenger.
