Manchester City will reportedly reignite their interest in Alexis Sanchez when the January transfer window comes around.
The Citizens wanted to land Sanchez in the summer transfer window and saw a £60 million deadline day move fall through, with Arsenal failing to land the player’s replacement, Thomas Lemar, from Monaco.
However, the Independent states that City will not lie down in their pursuit of Sanchez, with a January move lined up.
The 28-year-old has not been on top form this season, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season. This means that unless Arsenal cash in on Sanchez in January, he will walk away from the club on a free transfer in the summer.
Arsenal remain determined to retain Sanchez’s services for the foreseeable future but the player himself appears to be adamant that he will leave soon.
It’s been previously claimed that the Chilean international is keen to reunite with Pep Guardiola at City, given the pair’s successful relationship during their spell at Barcelona.
