Arsenal lost out to Manchester United 3-1 in a tightly fought game at the Emirates Stadium.
Heroics from David de Gea kept Arsenal out for the majority of the game. The Spaniard produced some spectacular saves to keep United in the lead.
Antonio Valencia opened the scoring for United early on in the third minute, capitalising on poor defending to slot through Petr Cech’s legs.
Jesse Lingard added a second in the eleventh minute after a mistake from Shkordan Mustafi put the youngster through on goal.
Arsenal went on to have the majority of the chances, with United holding on going into half time.
However, after the break the United defence was broken after a superb run from Aaron Ramsey allowed Alexandre Lacazette to slot home.
Arsenal continued to dominate before a late Jesse Lingard goal handed United the three points. Paul Pogba was sent off in the closing stages for a stamp on Hector Bellerin.
Here’s how we rated the Arsenal players in the 3-1 defeat to Man United.
Petr Cech - 6
Couldn’t have done much more for the goals, but was a bit slow to react on some occasions.
Laurent Koscielny - 5
Made two mistakes that led to the two opening goals. Could do a lot better.
Shkodan Mustafi - 3
Responsible for United’s second. Taken off afterwards with an injury.
Nacho Monreal - 6
Monreal was somewhat responsible for the first United goal. However, he made a massive improvement in the second half, and made some key blocks.
Hector Bellerin - 6
Bellerin didn’t have his best game for Arsenal. However, he almost scored if not for David de Gea.
Aaron Ramsey - 7
Superb play in the run up to Arsenal’s only goal. Did he mean the pass? Who knows. Was superb either way.
Granit Xhaka - 6
Busy throughout the game. Made several key challenges.
Sead Kolasinac - 6
Unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. Tireless as always.
Mesut Ozil
Linked very well and had a good game in midfield for Arsenal.
Alexis Sanchez - 7
Would’ve equalised for Arsenal but for a world class save from David de Gea. Worked tirelessly for 90 minutes.
Alexandre Lacazette - 7
Scored Arsenal’s only goal of the match, but probably should have had more.
